don't lie, the reason you hate Bob Saget is because he donkey punched your mother!!
Bob Saget FTW!!!
Oh, and the reason comedians use curse words is because a lot of everyday normal people use it during the conversations, not everyone is an uptight douchebag like you..

That's a good point. I'm not saying using profanity is a bad thing. I'm saying it's bad to make that your punchline. I see so many comedians do that and it is just not funny. Richard Pryor is a good example of someone using it correctly in comedy.

Go ahead and use the "f" word in a job interview. They'll be pleased with your expanded vocabulary.
Fact is, people who use profanity regularly sound less intelligent than those who refrain from using profanity in everyday speech. Plus profanity does not make jokes funnier. It only dumbs them down for a dumb audience. Ergo, most idiots enjoy Dane Cook's brand of "humor".

So what I'm saying is, the reasons you present are bogus. What your argument really boils down to is the snobbiest of all "I don't like those words and therefore no one should use them" Ironically, by choosing to not use a half dozen or more words, your actually limiting your own vocabulary... dipshit :)
MarcusCicero7 (August 26, 2008 at 1:19 am)
The only way your argument works is in hyperbola. Yeah, you got me; if your every other word was a "cuss" word then yeah, your way of talking would be ineffectual. But see, swear words are just words that people use to express extreme contempt for something. They're used as adverbs, adjectives, etc. If people use them constantly then yes, they seem dim and limited. But that can be said for any other adjective and adverb that someone overuses.

Fair point t4xid3rmist, but then you've got another comedic legend called Richard Pryor, who is a grown man and swears A LOT. He didnt come from a generally decent background, but he uses his experiences in his comedy and is one of the most inspirational comics who ever lived. What he and Cosby do is talk about real life situations, and people relate to it and its very entertaining. So in Richard's case the profanity is understood, unlike many other 'comedians',the kind you may be referring to.

To mitchrules007 i think you'd like Brian Regan. he's an awesome comedian who doesn't swear every 3 seconds.
