Viral marketing mishap!
Over the course of the last year I’ve really learned quite a lot about list building and in the recommendations which you make to your subscribers. There is certainly one area that really needs to be established in the relationship you build with your subscribers.
It has to do with the quality of the products in which you recommend to your subscribers. A lot of the time many marketers won’t take the time to really research a product they may even be promoting. If the product turns out to be junk, then that won’t go very far with the trust that you are building with your subscriber list. On the other hand, if the products that you chose to promote are carefully picked, and based on really good quality it will go a lot further with the amount of sales you make with your list. If your list learns to trust your recommendations and have been happy with the quality of products recommended, it will help you to make sales in the future. It’s because you have built this trust.
A little while back I purchased a product from a very well known online marketer, who’s name I won’t mention. It was a series of videos on viral marketing. Viral marketing, of course, is my one main interest in a lot of my marketing, so I’m always welcoming something in which I may be able to learn more about the chosen field I’ve come to love. The product, as it turned out, has got to be the absolute worse product I’ve ever seen quite possibly. I was seriously taken aback by the fact that a marketer would even want to promote such a product. Really, it was that bad!
So what do you think that did for the way I thought about the person marketing the product? Unfortunately, it left such a bad taste, I vowed I wouldn’t purchase another product through that person again. All trust was lost. I didn’t ask for a refund, because it’s not really my style, but at the same time I know I won’t purchase any more recommendations from this person.
As a marketer, I purchase products from other marketers which help me along with my business. Some of these might be softwares, sometimes it might be some advanced training I’m interested in. These days, I will really only purchase products usually from a few different marketers. Usually it’s from the same people all the time. It’s because they have earned my trust.
The viral marketing videos which I purchased had a great sales page. I will give it that, but, talk about under delivering quality. I don’t think the creator had hardly any idea what viral marketing was all about. It was almost silly to be honest with you. But, that was the one and only time I attempted to purchase from this particular marketer and it won’t happen again. My mistake! I’ll stick to the people I’ve already learned to trust.
One of the reasons that I’ve become particularly fond of promoting viral softwares and in some cases, simply, giving them away is obviously I like anything viral. But, the other reason is, that these softwares that come from the guys at IMBuzz Creators are really good quality for the price. Every month, I receive a brand new one to help with marketing, and they all end up being really good for the price for the monthly membership. If there has been a little glitch in one, these guys are always very prompt at getting the problem solved to. So it’s been a great relationship that way. Really, where else can you get such great software for the low price. I’ve paid a heck of a lot more for other softwares which didn’t even come close in comparison of quality.
It’s much the same as Tim Brocklehurst’s Viral Spiral. This software only gets better and better all the time with each upgrade. You won’t ever see that removed from the products I promote on this site. A high ticket item perhaps, but worth every penny. I love they way that it has helped many people begin to build their own lists inside the site Holly and I created. It was exactly for that reason, it was created.
So, if you learned anything from this post, please let it be that you always try and promote great quality. Make sure you take the time to check out the products you are recommending beforehand. The trust you build in the long run will far outweigh any sales you are only trying to make for a quick buck. It will also improve your sales in the future, since people come to know that you only recommend quality!
The greatest in all you do,
Make Success Yours!
