Today I was doing a little bit of reminiscing on which marketers I have learned the most from since I began my journey as an affiliate marketer. When I look back at the whole thing, and the ups and downs I’ve had, it’s been quite a journey.
These days, for the most part I like to consider myself mostly as a viral affiliate marketer. I guess, it’s because it is the one part of being an online marketer that I really gained a very keen interest in. I’m not really sure as to why. It just really fascinated me how certain techniques and strategies could start such a series of events that kept getting passed on from one person to the next. It’s exciting, in my mind.
So this post is a bit of a look back at the greatest influences, and also near the end it contains some people that have “woke me up” in certain areas recently, with some of their awesome trainings.

Well obviously that was coming wasn’t it?
Actually, Holly will always top the list no matter how many other marketers I’ve learned from, or will continue to learn from. There are many reasons for this, but, Holly is how I got my start. I feel her book is perfect for people getting started. It gives a great outline and overview of online marketing, and then leads them into some fairly advanced trainings. Especially in the area of SEO.
Holly’s book doesn’t get into some certain aspects of marketing in detail such as “list building”. But she certainly does touch on it. I have read probably over 100 books of a similar nature to Holly’s since starting, and, as far as I’m concerned Holly’s is still the best for people to get started making money quickly.
Holly, is also the first person that really took a genuine interest in my own marketing. That’s always meant a great deal to me. I especially appreciate the values that Holly has passed on to me with her marketing. She passes on great qualities for others to have, therefore, Holly will always top this list.
Mark Ling-Affilorama

Mark Ling was a great part of what helped me to become an affilate marketer. When I was starting, Holly’s book provided the knowledge, but, being completely green I needed a little bit more in learning how to start building my own web sites, setting up auto-responders and other aspects.
Mark Ling, was one of the first guys to begin training with Camtasia videos. His membership at Affilorama provided the visual aspects of getting things accomplished which helped me to a great degree. I’m really happy that Mark’s site was around. I found out about similar sites a little later on such as Wealth Affiliate, but Mark had a very good membership which I was happy and content with. It’s actually Mark that got me thinking about this today, as he recently outlined his biggest influences on one of his blogs as well.
Tim Brocklehurst

Tim, and his products, are what got me started with list building. I can’t even really remember anymore how I came across Tim’s products to begin with. Obviously, it was through being on a subscriber list of somebody that was promoting his products. But, I’m very glad I did! Tim has been a great influence on me. He’s a fantastic person to, who continues to be an inspiration.
His training products which I’ve went through were very good in terms of learning the art of list building. He always included a software to go along with his training materials as well. Tim’s List Mission product is how I got going. I would say, List Mission would still be one of the best values and investments a person could make in learning about list building, even though there are many others out there.
Tim’s latest powerhouse is, of course, Viral Spiral, which keeps getting better all the time with each upgrade.
Glen Hopkins

As a result of getting involved with Tim Brocklehurst, I was steered towards learning more about Glen Hopkins. I totally enjoyed Glen’s “Lucrative List Building” book. I learned some very important things I hadn’t known before reading that book.
Glen Hopkin’s is also the writer of “Confession’s Of An Online Marketer”. I’ve come to think of this particular book as “My Bible.” I really like this book. One of the reason’s I’ve come to like it so much is that I own the paperback version and I can take it whereever I go. I am always going back through it for inspiration and ideas. Whether you realize it or not, you are seeing a lot of what Glen teaches in this book unfolding if you are paying any attention to my own marketing career and the shifts it’s been taking in the last while.
Jack Humphrey

Jack has totally changed the way that I look at blogging and Web 2.0. Becoming a member of his Social Power Linking site has been a complete “wake up call” for me. I’m so happy I discovered his site and membership. Although, I thought had a fair idea of blogs and social marketing, it turns out I was completely in the dark. So Jack, if you are reading, “Hat’s off to you!”
Alex Edevane

Alex Edevane has also completely “woke me up” in a few areas of my business. He is also responsible for me creating a few more absolutely brand new and separate lists fairly recently. I really learned a lot from Alex.
I love his “NO BS” approach to everything, and his training material is impeccable. In fact, with the exception of implementing my own products or products I obtain rights to, I only work on two systems in my business now.
I work at implementing everything I’ve been learning through Jack Humphrey’s Social Power Linking, and I also follow Alex Edevane’s 1% MOLB system. Once again, I’m very glad I learned of Alex. His system is making a huge difference in my approach and in the profits I’ve been turning lately.
I could list many others here, a lot of people have had some sort of an influence on what I’ve learned, and implemented over time. But, this post was intended to list the people that have had the “most impact” on me since I’ve taken to becoming an affiliate marketer.
Who has had the largest impact on you with your business?

Davin this is such an awesome post! Thank you for the kind words - but you have helped me more than you will ever know (and thousands of others). You are a huge inspiration, and always there to help others in their journeys to success. I’m very grateful to have “met” you online. Thank you for everything Davin!
Hey Holly, thanx for stopping by and posting. But of course, I have kind words of you Holly. You are “one cool lady” and the real deal, and I am very grateful that we have become such great friends. I’ll talk to you soon. I have a lot of stuff to do today. I overslept and am sort of panicking to get some things done now. Thanx again Miss Holly!
Thanks Davin.
I understand your thoughts - but it’s good you slept! I am all messed up since I returned from the trip. I can’t get to sleep earlier than 2 am and I used to wake up at 5 am religiously - to start working. Josh has been staying up later than normal too - hard to readjust. I have been having major focus issues - with my book. I dont know what my problem is but I seem to enjoy doing everything but what I should be! I’ve managed to waste a lot of time (not really a waste but you know what I mean) learning to create vector images and do all sorts of neat things with photoshop. That’s really not what I should be doing now - as you know! Ok I”m here rambling on …better get to work. You keep in touch and I will email you mr dav!
